In order to help identify outstanding work by members of the Vedic astrology community, the American College of Vedic Astrology ™ (ACVA) Board of Directors initiated the Jyotish Navaratna Award, (The Nine Jewels of Vedic Astrology). The award is given based an excellent contributions to the field of Vedic astrology and for special service and support for the goals of the American College of Vedic Astrology™, that is to make Vedic astrology available to learners around the world.
The award recipient for 2010 is Swami Sitaramananda, director and spiritual guide of the Sivananda Yoga Farm Ashram in Grass Valley, California http://sivananda.org/yogafarm/ . Over the years, Swami Sita has offered the Sivananda ashram for Vedic astrology courses and has been a great practitioner and supporter of Vedic astrology in general. Swami Sita reminds us of the great links between Vedic astrology archetypes for a successful life and the path to enlightenment. We of the ACVA Board of Directors are thankful for Swami Sita’s support and look forward to her continued energy and enthusiasm in encouraging the growth of Vedic astrology around the world.
