Planetary Tips August 1st to September 1st 2009

Every month, as the ACVA news observes the sidereal month’s changing of signs, we use the current location of the US Capital, Washington, DC.

August 1st We begin the month with Mars in Taurus, Venus in Gemini, Ketu in Cancer, Sun midpoint in Cancer, Mercury in Leo (on July 31st), Saturn in Leo, Moon in Scorpio, Jyestha, Rahu in Capricorn and Jupiter having retrograded back into Capricorn, its sign of debilitation. Note, that while debilitated it is Neecha Banga Raja Yoga. (cancellation of debilitation) It will be cancelled until it goes direct on October 13th, 2009 – Note, in Vedic Astrology, we do not traditionally “read,” the outer planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. I have added them here for those who use them. For those who have asked – Uk is Upa Ketu – a shadow point that is always the same degree as the sun, and Gk is Gulika or sometimes called Mandi and acts much like Rahu.

Planetary Tips 0809 1st Chart

August 5th Lunar Eclipse – this is a partial eclipse and not as intense as the recent solar eclipse on the 22nd of July. Still, take caution, and status quo is the thinking – meditate more, and postpone important decisions to another day.

August 14th – Mars becomes Sandi at 29’ Taurus

August 16th – Mars moves to Sandi at 00’ Gemini (Do NOT fly this day.) Mars moves to enemy sign of Gemini I have noted many airline disasters in the early degrees of Gemini. It joins Venus, who though the karaka or significator of vehicles, is still placed in her friend, Mercury’s sign which improves the situation somewhat.

August 16th the Sun changes to its own sign of Leo –

Planetary Tips 0809 2nd Chart

Whoa! Check out the strength of the Sun as it changes into Leo. It is 2.22 (that is 200.22 percent!) in Shad Bala, and it is exalted in the 10th house in the Navamsa. So, even though the sun will be Sandi at 00’ and its yogkaraka Mars, also Sandi that same day at 00’ degrees Gemini

August 17th There will be a tight connection between Moon, Mercury, Saturn and Jupiter as they all transit at 27 degrees. Jupiter will be 8th from the Gemini Moon, and 6th from the Saturn and Mercury (and Sun though wide by degree). Jupiter and Moon in 6/8 axis is called Sakata yoga and is known to cause financial loss in a natal chart, frequently when the dasas of the planets forming it are in operation.

August 19th Mercury moves into exaltation in Virgo! Communications improve! However, they can be very heated. This is summer in the USA and pitta season. Mars, from Gemini will aspect this Mercury ALL month! The remedy is to drink something “cool, white, sweet,” before communicating. (In Asia, coconut juice, in the West, a vanilla milkshake!)

August 21st Venus moves into Cancer (joining Ketu, opposed by Rahu and Jupiter from Capricorn)

August 22nd The Sun moves to 5’55 -- the same degree as Rahu and Ketu while Jupiter transits at 27’00 and Saturn at 27’49 in 6/8 axis. This happens on a Saturday, be careful and also look out for the other driver in vehicles.

August 25th Mars at 5’41 Gemini, will aspect Mercury at 5’31 Virgo, and Rahu at 5’45 Capricorn. This happens on Mar’s day – Tuesday. This aspect combination continues until the end of the month.

August 28th Mars in Gemini, Venus in Cancer and Mercury in Virgo will all be around 8 degrees. This can be good for researching your life’s passions (www.thepassiontest.com ) and for communicating depending upon your own personal chart.

August 31st Save major decisions for another day, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu all aspect the Capricorn moon!
