This policy letter is addressed to ACVA learners, faculty, ACVA certified tutors, alumni/certificate holders and supporters who currently have interests and activities related to the American College of Vedic Astrology (ACVA) and the American College of Vedic Astrology Online (ACVA Online).
The purpose of this communication is to inform everyone of a change in policy in teaching strategies of the American College of Vedic Astrology (ACVA).
The following policy points mark the expiration of what will be called the former ACVA Tutor-Led Learning Model and signals its replacement in 2010, and going forward, with what will be called the ACVA Online Learning Model.
For many reasons, including cost of doing business in today’s economy, instructional advances, and simplification of business procedures, ACVA is repurposing its former tutor-led learning model, to that of an Online Learning Model. Courses in Vedic astrology are now led by instructors formerly trained by ACVA in Online Learning teaching methodology. ACVA Online’s new design was developed by a Curriculum Committee comprised of professional educators who are experts in the field of online instructional design as well as qualified subject matter experts in Vedic astrology principles and practices.
As is the case in any organizational transformation, an attempt is being made to accommodate those in transition from the former ACVA Tutor Model to that of the new ACVA Online Learning Model. Learning in today’s international environment is a constantly evolving affair, and even the new ACVA Online Learning Model will be subject to evolutionary changes, per the direction offered by the ACVA organization, as time goes on.
We congratulate those who have taken and led ACVA courses in the past. Certificate holders from the former ACVA tutor led model, can still take pride in being ACVA certified in Level I and Level II, even though there will no longer be ACVA endorsed tutoring for learners to gain course credits going forward. Nor, as in the past, does teaching, tutoring, or holding Level 1 and Level 2 certification give automatic permission to advertise any event as an ACVA sponsored event, which in turn would receive ACVA credit. We encourage everyone to join ACVA Online in supporting this new and exciting way of delivering education. Now Vedic astrology instruction can be delivered online, anywhere and any time. Learners will experience learning in a way that is more cost effective for both ACVA and learners. It will be a rich educational experience and easily accessible for seekers of Vedic knowledge around the world.
